I’m excited but unfortunately it won’t really be a couture event…maybe one day we’ll have a couture fashion week!! 🙂 Have fun covering it!

I don’t think that I said it was couture – if I did, my apologies – maybe my word play in title was misleading? Sadly, in this day and age, there are so many fashion shows that AREN’T true haute couture and are all about the glitz and the production – lots of fluff, not a lot of great substance, and certainly not a lot of real couturiers 😉 It is still certainly groundbreaking for Pittsburgh, though. I mean, 10 years ago, can you even IMAGINE Pittsburgh having any kind of fashion event? I’m pretty excited 🙂 Maybe it is the start of an actual notable fashion presence here – and maybe someday we’ll get our wish of a true HIGH fashion week 🙂

Yeah it was this that threw me off, Read more about Pittsburgh Fashion Week – a groundbreaking couture event.

There still are true couture shows that take place around the world, so I just meant that we weren’t having anything close to that here.

It is a very exciting step for Pittsburgh Fashion Week, I think it deserves to be recognized for what it is, not what is not, which I know was not your intention, I just don’t want anyone else to get mislead with your use of the word couture. That was all. 🙂

My apologies. I got that phrasing from another site when I was looking up contact info and forgot I wrote it, hence the confusion! It also didn’t bother me to put it that way, as in reference to Zang Toi, his stuff is all unique & hand-sewn, sold in couture departments at stores like Nordstroms, etc. but I totally understand what you are saying & no hard feelings 🙂
