Watch Pittsburgh Girl Gillian Jacobs on NBC’s Community

23 Sep

Pittsburgh sure has bred a lot of actors and actresses!

Another to add to the list is Ms. Gillian Jacobs….the most recent Maniac Magazine cover girl and also a cast member of the hit NBC sitcom, “Community” which airs on Thursday nights.

Jacobs grew up in Mt. Lebanon and made herself known via Pittsburgh’s Public Theater. Her breakout role was on stage in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Aside from her theater work and her starring role on Community, Gillian has film and TV credits in NOnames, Coach, Watching TV with the Red Chinese, The Box, Choke, Law & Order, The Good Wife, Traveler, Fringe, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, among others.

Way to represent Pittsburgh, Gillian!

Pittsburgh-Filmed ‘Abduction’ Premieres Today

23 Sep

Today is the much-anticipated release of the movie, “Abduction.” Anticipated by whom, you ask? Well, Taylor Lautner fangirls (and boys) and Pittsburgh alike have been awaiting the release of this film.

The movie was filmed in Pittsburgh last summer and the story is also based here in Da’ Burgh as well. Shoot locations include Mt. Lebanon, PNC Park, and more.

I was an extra/background actor in the flick, and though I missed the VIP Fan Premiere/Sneak Peak Advance Viewing last week in Monaca, I will be seeing the movie this weekend to see if I can spot myself and/or any familiar locations!

So, if you are looking for something to do on this rainy Pittsburgh weekend, I suggest you go see Abduction — whether you are a member of Team Jacob or Steeler Nation, the scenery surely won’t disappoint! 😉
