The 1st Annual Get Involved Service Summit in Pittsburgh – Great Success!

23 Apr

I had the pleasure of attending the 2010 “Get Involved!” Service Summit, hosted by Baker Leadership, at the Union Project yesterday in Pittsburgh.

It was an amazing event, and a great networking experience!

I heard inspiring stories from compelling speakers such as PA State Senator John Pippy, City Councilman Bill Peduto, author Chuck Herring, life coach Lisa Spahr, Chaz Kellem from the Pittsburgh Pirates, speaker Jeff Tobe of Color Outside the Lines, the esteemed Jim Roddey, Jim Lokay from KDKA, an expert panel of nonprofits and board members, and more!

It was a wonderful experience! I got to meet Senator Pippy, AND, in honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth

Day yesterday, picked up a cute bag for charity that one of the vendors was selling – made out of recycled t-shirts!

I can’t wait to attend next year, and after this year’s event, I look forward to reading Tom Baker’s book! Also, I would like to extend a “congrats” to all of the award winners this year, and a “nice to meet you” to all whom I was lucky enough to come into contact with.

Thanks for a great day!
