Mark Zuckerberg Coming to Pittsburgh

7 Nov

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg will be in Pittsburgh tomorrow, November 8th, 2011, to address students and faculty at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University.

According to a CMU press release, “Carnegie Mellon is one of three campuses being visited by Zuckerberg during an East Coast college tour. He also has scheduled appearances at Harvard University and MIT….Though this will be Zuckerberg’s first visit to Carnegie Mellon’s Pittsburgh campus, he and his colleagues at Facebook are well-acquainted with the university, which boasts a consistently top-ranked computer science program. Facebook is a major recruiter at Carnegie Mellon and employs about 50 alumni. Many CMU students have benefited from internships with the Palo Alto, Calif., company.”

Mr. Zuckerberg is 27 years old and founded Facebook circa 2004.

This speaking engagement will be in front of an invitation-only audience.

Thank You, Pittsburgh!

Thank you to Pittsburgh Magazine, and PUMP (The Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project) for selecting me as one of this year’s Top 40 Under 40 winners. I am honored and flattered.

If you’d like to learn more, pick up the November 2011 issue of Pittsburgh Magazine, out now. I’m on Page 57.

Very excited and proud to be part of such a great initiative! Looking forward to the 40 Under 40 gala at The Rivers Casino ballroom on November 4th!

Grateful and blessed,

Pittsburgh on the Big Screen!

15 Nov

Most of you know this but I’ll tell “yinz” again, anyway.

Three – count ’em – THREE Pittsburgh-filmed major motion pictures are out in theaters in the month of November, 2011.

You can go to the movies and try to pick out Pittsburgh people and places by checking out:

Love and Other Drugs – starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway

Unstoppable starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine

The Next Three Days – starring Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks

Don’t forget that “She’s Out of my League” and “Adventureland” both currently available OnDemand were also filmed in and around Pittsburgh.

Look for Taylor Lautner’s “Abduction” (also a Pgh flick) to premiere around September 23, 2011. (I’m in that one, so look for my 2-second-long appearances, too! Hehehe.)

Which movie are YOU most excited to see?

Leave a comment with your thoughts! Or, if you’ve seen any of them yet, give us your review! 🙂
