Martha Stewart Does Market District

14 May

Today, Martha Stewart madness took over Market District in Robinson Township, right outside of Pittsburgh. Approximately 750 people got the opportunity to see a demonstration of Martha’s new “Martha Stewart Clean” eco-friendly household products, and get either books or products autographed by Martha herself.

Ms. Stewart was, of course, polished, polite, and impeccibly dressed, and surprisingly friendly, posing for photos with fans during the book signing and being chatty. The whole event was run very efficiently and smoothly and was overall well-done and well-organized, and very tasteful.

Even though we were told that she would not pose for photos, when I got up there, she took a picture with me without my even asking her to. I was expecting someone to just take a picture of her as she was signing my book, but she was gracious and nice, and even offered me encouragement on publishing my own book someday.

I admit, I went into it as a skeptic. I wanted to see what it was all about, and I wanted to blog about it for my ‘day job’ because of the whole healthy living and wellness component, but, I’ve never been a huge Martha fan. However, it goes to show that you shouldn’t judge people because, she was very kind to me and didn’t rub me the wrong way at all. I can only speak for my personal experience but I left happy, and, after looking through the Fresh Flavor Fast book, hungry.

Kudos to Market District (and what a fabulous store that is, anyway!) for putting on such a lovely event!

Martha Stewart will be doing a book signing this weekend at Pittsburgh’s newest, chicest spot for a true grocery ‘experience’ – the new Settler’s Ridge Giant Eagle Market District.

Tickets are limited and you must claim yours in advance via an online waitlist. Also, she will only be signing copies of her best-selling books: Martha Stewart’s Homekeeping Handbook and Everyday Food: Fresh Flavor Fast, but she will be on-hand to offer fresh eating and spring-cleaning tips.
