On June 30th, there was an open casting call at Carnegie Mellon University for extras to be in an upcoming film called “Abduction.”
You may have heard of it.
It’s a little flick starring, oh, you know …. Taylor Lautner.
Ring a bell?
I went to the casting call. Just for the heck of it. I’m on “the list.” If you’ve done extra work or are familar with “the industry” you know what that means.
It means that, for example, they could call me at 7pm tonight and say that they are looking for extras to be on set at 6am until 6 or 7pm tomorrow, can I be there?
Do I get to look at Taylor Lautner with his shirt off? If so, maybe I can.
Anyway….
So, I went to the casting call to sort of “scope out the scene.”
It was rather interesting. For the sake of this blog, I decided to interview some people while I waited. (Which, wasn’t long. Turns out, going places early, and wielding a Flip Cam and lap top with some media credentials can yield a lot of power. As well as having the actual professional headshots and acting/modeling resume that were required of you, unlike seemingly 80% of people there.)
There were some “Twihards” who were……let’s say…..delusional. I’d like to know who actually thinks that the star of a movie is going to waste his or her day sitting at a casting call for movie extras. Wait – I DO know…..16 year old Twilight fans, that’s who. I didn’t want to burst their bubble, but, the interns who worked for the casting agency sure did. Poor gals were mightily disappointed that “Jacob” was not going to be there.
I also want to know this. Let’s just say – for fun – that Taylor Lautner DID show up at the casting call that day. Hypothetically. Does anyone REALLY think he’s going to go for a lady in her late 30’s-early 40’s dressed like a cheap Vegas hooker? I don’t know. I’m guessing no. Maybe it’s just me….but I just don’t *really* get that vibe from him. But, believe it or not….there were some DESPERATE desperate housewives there. Maybe they were “stage moms” escorting their young daughters….maybe they were just escorts. I really don’t know. Either way, maybe not the best attire? Way cougarlicious.
Folks, he isn’t interested in you. Or me, or, probably, anyone in Pittsburgh. Maybe no one right now. This is just something that I’m throwing out there.
Yes, I got little tinglies from head to toe when I found out that he’s living just a stone’s throw away from where I reside and that he was spotted more than once at a Starbucks that I frequent.
Yes, today I did drive to the location of his movie shoot today, because, I was off, had nothing to do between doctor’s
appointments, and, I write an entertainment blog….so….I mean, duh! A picture would have been GOLDEN! And, it won’t be the last time that I go “werewolf hunting” in my free time this summer. (So sue me. I’m a blogger. And he’s hot.)
However…..do I have grand delusions about him? No. Have I ever had grand delusions about a celebrity? No. And I’ve met my fair share. I laugh when I see/hear/read how people act around stars. I mean, a group of teens got arrested trying to take photos of him today?
Sigh.
Kids….when will you learn?

Pssst….Taylor Lautner spotted today filming in Elizabeth on Bunola River Road and Elkhorn. Security was tight but Glitzburgh will clue you in on where he’ll be filming in Pittsburgh tomorrow! I do know where he is residing in a neighborhood of Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh. If you do have photos or sightings, you may email tips to glitzburgh@gmail.com. However, regardless, I will NOT post his exact address or any photos of place of residence out of respect for privacy. Do not ask.
So close but so far, one of Lautner's movie crew members in Elizabeth today. He's hot too though 😉
