Pittsburgh’s Queen of Country – Meet Singer Kellie Lynne ~ Beautiful Inside and Out!

29 Jul

A few years back, I was at a local fair (in McDonald, PA, I believe) and a cute, blonde country singer who seemed close to my own age simply dazzled my girlfriends and I as she  hit the stage. Since then, I’d seen her a few times at events around town, and have definitely noticed her presence in the online world.

Apparently, I have not been the only one to notice hometown girl Kellie Lynne. She seems to have the makings of a true country superstar, and I am thrilled that she’s agreed to be my next Glitzburgh interviewee.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy! I’m sure that we’ll be seeing many more big things from Kellie Lynne in the very near future!

I’m proud to call her a fellow Pittsburgh gal! Read on to learn more about this beautiful, gifted, inspiring talent, and strong young woman.

Q: What part of Pittsburgh or the Pittsburgh area are you from?

*Lower Burrell, PA

Q: You should never ask a lady, but….how old are you?

*25

Q: When did you first discover your love for music?

*I discovered my love for music at a very young age! My parents tell me that I would always run around the house singing as much as I could whenever I was a toddler!! I still remember to this day singing in my room to an audience of stuffed animals with a hair brush as my microphone! I had a bunch of mirrors in my room so I would always watch myself in the mirror as I sang so that I could see what I was doing to work on my body language & performance!

Q: Do you write your own lyrics? What about your own music?

*I recently began writing my own lyrics. I found this to be a new love of mine. I used to be very shy & timid about sharing my lyrics with others, but after I started performing out a song that I wrote on my current CD, it’s really changed my view on sharing my music with everyone! I’ve had people tell me that the song that I wrote on the album is their favorite song on the CD & when I perform the song live, fans sing along! That gives me chills!!

Q: Have you played any local venues, and which ones?

*I’ve had a band for over 7 years, so yes, I’ve played a lot of local venues…too many too name!! Lol! My favorite Venue would have to be Saddle Ridge in Station Square! I had my CD Release party there back in September! It’s always a blast to play there because people go there to listen and dance to country music!

Q: What was your most recent show?

*My most recent show was in Conneaut Lake, PA at the Conneaut Lake Park. That was a fun show because it was outdoors right by the lake, so all of the boaters came up to watch the show. The weather wasnt the best part because it was very hot outside, but I did get to work a little bit on my tan…so I guess that was a plus! 🙂

Q: What has been your biggest show and/or appearance thus far? Locally, nationally?

*My biggest show Nationally was being on TV for, “Showtime At The Apollo” filmed in Harlem, NYC. To sing on the Apollo stage was such an honor for me!! I recieved a standing ovation from the audience which to this day is still something that means the world to me, because for “Showtime At The Apollo” the audience has the right to ‘boo’ you off of the stage!

*My biggest show Locally would be how the band was chosen to be the opening act for Loretta Lynn (twice!) I’ve had the chance to be the opening act & meet many Country artists, but when I met Loretta Lynn I was stuck in a dumb founded stare!! Loretta herself is such a musical legend and worked so hard to get what she deserved! Loretta is such a beautiful woman the whole way around!!!

Q: Who – and what- inspires you – any Pittsburgh people or aritsts?

*Honestly I can be inspired from a karaoke singer at a local bar to a famous musical artist that’s on the radio!! I believe that you learn and take notes from anyone who is musically inspired!! We/they all have the same drive and love as you!! Live and learn from all!

Q: What do you bring to your music that makes you stand out from other country singers?

*I feel that I bring a lot of energy to the table! If you come out to a show, you will never see me standing still! I love to have fun and put emotion behind my music! I’m also very ‘people’ driven! I love to stay in touch with my fans & meet as many new people as possible!!

Q: In which direction do you see yourself heading with your career?

*Well, I decided this month that it is time to move to Nashville next month to take my career to the next level! I believe that I’ve gotten as far as I can living here in Pittsburgh. I cannot wait to be in the city where everyone is music driven! Nashvile….here I come!:)

Q: Which musical artists do you dream of someday working with?

*Too many to name!! I’d love to work with as many as I possibly could! I believe that you learn from every artist that you meet!I have a wide variety! Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Willie Nelson, Shania Twain, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Lady Antebellum and so on and so on!! 🙂

Q: What’s in store for you for the rest of the summer?

*The plan is to finish out my shows that I have booked for the summer & then start to pack to move to Nashville! Once I hit Nashville I’m ready to start a whole new life!

Q: What’s been your proudest moment so far?

*I believe that as I get older and more educated about the music business that I look back at everything that I’ve done with my career so far in Pittsburgh and smile! I couldnt be happier with everything that I’ve been able to accomplish between starting a band, touring, meeting fans, opening for major acts, being on TV, getting radio airplay, writing music, releasing cds, selling merchandise, and having supportive family, friends & fans.I’m such a lucky girl and I couldnt be more proud than to know that I’m going after my dream!

Q: Single or taken? Any celebrity crushes?

*Taken. but that doesnt mean that I wont talk to any guys! I’m very lucky to have such a supportive boyfriend who understands what my job is all about! He knows that it’s my job to talk to and meet new fans! I absolutely love to meet with and talk tonew fans & learn all about them!!:)

Q: What’s been the hardest part about your journey in ‘the industry’ thus far?

*There are a lot of hard things about being in ‘the industry!’ It all started 5 years ago whenever I got involved with a scam artist! There are so many out there that attack new artists in the business! In a wierd way, I guess that it made me a lot stronger and opened my eyes to the music world!

Also, in this business you always have got to be on top of your game! There’s always someone out there who is better than you and more hungry….and you always have to remind yourself of that! It could be very easy to give up in this business, but it’s nice to have the support and love of family members and friends to help you get through!:)
