Gagaloo Update: Ms. Gaga will perform 2nd show in Pittsburgh… in FEBRUARY 2011; XTina in August 2010.

10 May

Attention Lady Gaga fans: yesterday’s blog post was accurate: my suspicions were confirmed this morning. Lady Gaga will be adding a 2nd Pittsburgh show to her Monster Ball tour. She’ll be swinging by Pittsburgh again in February, 2011. Tickets go on sale THIS FRIDAY, May 14th, 2010. Her September 5th show is already sold out — and sold out in under one minute — so if you’re attempting to get tickets this week, be prepared – for you’ve been forewarned. (Just a sidenote: 96.1 KISS fm will also be giving away tickets all week long, so you can also tune in to them for your chance, as well. Gaga’s camp certainly isn’t giving us fans much of a chance to prepare to have to spring for a ticket! I mean, what’s the rush? The 2nd show’s like 9 months away! Sheesh!)

Additionally, today Christina Aguilera also confirmed her tour dates for her Bionic tour. It turns out that the Wexford gal will be performing at Pittsburgh’s First Niagra Pavilion on August 3rd, 2010. Tickets for her show will go on sale May 21st and will surely be (sorry XTina) in lesser demand than Gaga’s.

RUMOR HAS IT: Lady Gaga to Add 2nd Show in Pittsburgh? Christina Aguilera concert, too?

Lady Gaga to add another Pittsburgh concert date!

Christina Aguilera – coming soon to a city near you?

Pop superstar Lady Gaga sold out Pittsburgh in record time. Many fans were unable to get tickets, leaving a lot of frustrated and disappointed “Little Monsters” in the city of Pittsburgh.

However, Gaga monsters can rejoice! Rumors have it that Gaga has rearranged her Monster Ball tour schedule and will be adding a 2nd Pittsburgh show to the lineup. Tweets from Consol Energy Center talk about a BIG concert announcement tomorrow (Monday, May 10th) and teasers on 96.1 KISS fm allude to a Lady Gaga concert announcement on tomorrow’s Morning Freak Show with Mikey and  Big Bob.

Additionally, as of yesterday, sources have already let it slip that Gaga will, in fact, be performing more than one show in Da’ Burgh this fall.

Here’s hoping! Stay tuned for more Gagalicious news.

Pssst… PS: Pittsburgh girl Christina Aguilera will be making a concert announcement soon, too, to promote her new album Bionic and the coinciding tour. She certainly won’t be leaving out her hometown, either, so stay tuned for news about XTina in Da’ Burgh. (According to Oprah, some tickets for XTina’s world tour will begin to go onsale 5/21/2010.)

Gaga for GaGa! Pittsburgh Monster Ball Tickets on Sale Tomorrow!

8 Apr

Tickets for Lady Gaga’s much-buzzed-about “Monster Ball” Tour go on sale for Pittsburgh TOMORROW, April 9th, 2010.

You can get them from Ticketmaster at 10am – but, be forewarned: it is definitely a hot ticket. Shows in other cities have sold out in 20 minutes or less, and the better the seats, the heftier the pricetag.

However, according to fans and critics alike, it is WELL worth it.(Of course, as a Gaga superfan, I MAY be slightly biased…but hey, I’m just telling you what just about every review I’ve read has said, too!) The show is apparently a spectacle to beheld, like anything Gaga does. It entails many costume changes, dancing, elaborate sets, a complete musical storyline, a pop-art, avant-garde, haute-couture, in-your-face undertone, and, unlike many of her peers and predecessors, LIVE singing!

No lip-synching from this gal.

While Britney’s 2009 “Circus” was definitely one of the biggest and most over-the-top concerts in recent memory, her sexy dance moves, catchy tunes, superstardom, and cutesy costumes can’t make up for one thing and that is actual raw, live, amazing vocal performances.

Lady Gaga’s concert will be the first in the new Consol Energy Center. Today marked the last regular-season home game for the Pittsburgh Penguins at the soon-to-be-defunct Mellon Arena.

Will YOU be getting tickets tomorrow? Let me know! And, GOOD LUCK, “Little Monsters!”

Happy 24th Birthday, Lady GaGa! See you in Pittsburgh, September 5th!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LADY GAGA!

Lady Gaga turns 24 on Sunday, March 28th. Here’s wishing her an (early) Happy Birthday!!

She already got an amazing birthday gift: Gaga broke Internet records this week when 3 of her videos boasted a whopping 1 billion video views EACH. (“Just Dance”, “Pokerface”, and “Bad Romance.”)

Her most recent video, “Telephone” featuring Beyonce is one of the most talked-about music videos in quite some time, with its 9-minute length, bad-girl feel, fabulously absurd fashions, and her nods to director Quentin Tarantino. With a Grammy and multiple other accolades and nominations under her belt, as well as becoming a larger-than-life force to be reckoned with, this hasn’t exactly been a bad year for Lady Gaga. (Aside from hermaphrodite rumors and a $30 million lawsuit filed against her by her ex-boyfriend) After all, she got to meet the Queen of England, perform with Elton John at the Grammy Awards, became Creative Director for Polaroid, designed Heartbeats headphones with Dr. Dre, and has become a gay-rights advocate, a fashion muse, and beloved international icon.

In my opinion, she is IT. The whole package. She’ll soon be the new reigning queen of pop – and this comes from a DIEHARD Britney Spears fan. Gaga, though, has something different. She’s a whole new animal, and if she doesn’t boot Britney from her role as THE pop star, she’ll at least share the throne with her. Intelligent, avant garde, artsy, fashion-forward, and certainly not shy, Lady Gaga is surely a super star. Girlfriend can SING! She’s classically trained on the piano, she writes many of her own songs, is close with her parents, started from the bottom performing and bars and burlesque shows, and one standout difference from other current divas is that she rarely if ever lip-synchs to even part of a performance.

Her shows and costumes are spectacles to be beheld, and I hear that her current tour resembles more of a musical than simply a concert. I do worry that she may burn out. OK! Magazine reports this week that Gaga collapsed twice in a mid-March shows in New Zealand (see video here) and that she’s overworked and that she is allegedly suffering severe exhaustion. Gaga did confirm her collapse onstage to a UK radio station and says that she was simply hot, tired, and working too hard at the time. She claims that her family “keeps her sane” and so I hope that, despite her absolutely grueling concert, business, design, promotion, and recording schedule, that she gets the rest and support that she needs.

Gaga, who is working on a 3rd album due out this year and claims it is some of her best work yet (how do you top THE BEST?) is planning on “going to the nearest bar….and getting very drunk” for her birthday this weekend, as she celebrates the age of 24 – no doubt with BFF Perez Hilton, her Little Monsters, and Haus of Gaga family in tow.

Below is a photo that Lady Gaga posted on her Twitter page to commemorate her 24th Birthday …. in her Birthday Suit, of course:

PSSSST…. Mark your Calendars! Lady Gaga’s “The Monster Ball” will be the opening concert at the new Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Sunday, September 5th, 2010. Official ticket sale dates have not yet been confirmed. Stay tuned for breaking news on Gagaloo!
